Amy Markgraf
Founder/Owner/Instructor
Amy is a dedicated dance educator and versatile artist, serving as the Dance Education Program Coordinator and Professor of Dance at Utah Valley University (UVU).
Alongside her academic role, she runs Mapleton Dance Center for children and teens. Amy began her dance journey with BYU Young DanceMakers. This early experience ignited her passion for creativity, exploration, and learning.
Her choreography has been performed nationally and internationally, earning acclaim and invitations at events such as the American College Dance Association Gala Concerts, Breaking Ground, Choreography Design Project, Center for Latter-Day Saint Arts, universities, and other festivals. She has also presented at conferences such as NDEO, IADMS, UDEO, and daCi.
Amy co-developed Body and Brain (B2), a dance-specific conditioning program with BYU's Kate Monson, and teaches Pilates. UVU has awarded Amy the Dean's Recognition Award for Scholarly and Creative Work, as well as the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award.
Holly Perkins
Holly Perkins, from Lehi, Utah, began dancing at age seven and started teaching Modern and Jazz at 15. She has been recognized in choreography festivals, including five consecutive 1st Place awards at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Her recent work, rove. gaze., was featured at the 2023 American College Dance Association National Conference. Holly holds a BFA in Modern Dance and an AS in University Studies from Utah Valley University.
Raquel Miller
Ballet Instructor
Raquel trained at Jacqueline's School of Ballet and performed with Utah Metropolitan Ballet. She attended the University of Utah on scholarships, performing in Les Sylphides and Carmen, before transferring to Utah Valley University. Raquel performed with the Repertory Ballet Ensemble and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. She graduated with a BFA in Ballet in 2025 and is continuing her performing career and pursuing her Pilates certification. .
Maren Wood
Maren Wood, born in Utah, began ballet at 14 and trained with The Academy of Ballet and Ballet Utah. She earned her BFA in Ballet from Utah Valley University, performing with the Repertory Ballet Ensemble under renowned choreographers. Maren interned with Joffrey Ballet School in Georgia and Colorado and has extensive experience in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Neoclassical styles. She continues her work in performance, choreography, and teaching.
Holly Markgraf- Mayne
Holly Markgraf-Mayne has over 30 years of experience teaching and inspiring dancers of all ages. She trained in BYU’s Children’s Dance Program and holds degrees from Utah State University and a teaching certificate from UVU. Holly has led programs like Young Dance Makers and served as a dance specialist in Nebo School District, integrating movement into K–6 education. She continues to teach and perform at Mapleton Dance Center and Maple Grove Middle School and is a lifelong advocate for the arts.
